Myra Sides Copus

Myra Copus received her BFA, cum laude, from the university of Geortgia.  A Phi Beta Kappa, she majored in painting and drawing and minored in languages.  After spending 2 years in Brazil as a Peace Corps volunteer, she and her family moved to Annapolis.

A former gallery owner and continuous painter, Copus has developed a unique watercolor technique.  Paintings are spontaneous compositions created by large wash areas, intricate detail, and line.  Oils are characterized by jewel-like transparencies.  There is endless variety of texture and atmosphere in her paintings, and her love of nature is the driving force.

Complementing originals are fourteen signed and numbered limited edition prints.  She has had numerous one person shows and her work is in collections nationwide.
