Ann deLorge
"I enjoy looking at a painting that takes me on a trip while giving me something to discover and think about with each visit. The interaction and tensions between the various compositional elements is what I love about jazz music and painting." Ann deLorge, a native Southerner, moved to New Orleans, LA in 1971 where she began her painting career in watercolors. As her love for the medium grew, Ann was invited to work with galleries in Maryland, Arkansas, and Louisiana. During this time, she began producing limited edition reproductions and painted several sets of prints for New Orleans Images gallery in the French Quarter to reproduce exclusively. She has maintained her relationship with her New Orleans galleries through the years. As Ann's work gradually evolved, she started experimenting with acrylics while listening to contemporary jazz. These two new interests melded into what she calls "Jazz Art" and she sold her new work through a gallery in Georgia and over the internet from her website. Katrina brought me back to carmen's with a more traditional style but in acrylics. "Katrina has carved out a slight curve in my life. I moved to and will be living in Georgia now until...but will continue painting the jazz I love and people in general that I find interesting...with a New Orleans flavor."
carmen's gallery proudly represents ann deLorge in both New Orleans and Solomons Island.
