Kay Kandra grew up in Shamokin, a small coal-mining town in Pennsylvania, and studied art at the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts), where she earned a BFA degree with honors.
After living in picturesque New England for 25 years, Kay
moved to Maryland in 1990 to live in Annapolis. In the intervening
years she lived in a variety of places around the United States where she
continued her studies, painted, taught in her studio and at local colleges,
and raised four children. Balancing these roles, Kay has
remained artistically inspired and devoted through all of them.
Kay travels frequently and paints everywhere she goes!
carmen's is pleased to carry Kay's original watercolors
and acrylics.

Kay has visited many places in the world and has paintings from most. If you have a favorite spot...Italy, France, Greece, Maine, the Southwest US or any other, let us know. We may be able to provide you with fond memories in the form of a Kandra original. We'll certainly do our best! |
